Corporal punishment is counterproductive (every major medical association makes this clear), and keep in mind that the Great Crime Decline that began in the 90s is still with us. A major cause of crime (while I'm on the subject) is lead exposure, and I suspect that there's a lot of that in Oak Cliff.
