  1. At least they're being consistent. If embryo = baby (the vast majority of abortions involve embryos, not even fetuses), then IVF is surely much worse than abortion, considering the vast numbers of embryos destroyed in the process. Some anti-choice activists oppose IVF, but most don't. It leads me to believe that the goal is not to save the embryos, but to punish people for having sex.
