I don't think that you have a cite for that (obviously). You're being disingenuous.
2
That's not true, thankfully. There's been an upswing in homicide rates during/after the pandemic, but even those rates are well below the peak from around 1990. The rates of most kinds of crime have stayed flat, or even declined. It might be different regarding shoplifting, but there's the matter of sensationalist reporting to consider.
2
@karimamin2 That's not true. Look at the data. Republican-dominated states have the highest crime rates; note also that the most dangerous parts of California (for example) are Bakersfield and Fresno, both GOP-dominated.

Don't be fooled by sensationalist reporting.

Perhaps you should do some research.

Type?

Crime was actually much higher then, peaking in around 1990.

Which is?

Most categories of crime rates have either remained steady or continued to decline.

You don't know how these things work.

This alleged "breakdown" is wildly exaggerated by the news (crime rates are still well below their 1990 peak); more importantly, what "people" are you referring to?
1
@isthatyoursomnomnom Stop talking around things.
1
@isthatyoursomnomnom On the contrary; you're the one who won't say what people you're referring to.

@timbaldwin6283 Career criminals?

@JMelissaMc You don't know what you're talking about. Why do you want to punish children for being born into bad circumstances?
1
@RunSamRun94 @JMelissaMc made a since deleted comment sneering about "welfare." Even if you (wrongly) hold adults in contempt who receive such assistance, don't forget that making things worse for the adults will make things worse for the children as well.
1
@adspur Do you know about, for example, redlining?
1
@JMelissaMc Public assistance often is what keeps children from dire, life-threatening poverty.
1
@Noticerofthings Stop talking around things. Just say it. I dare you.

There's been an upswing in homicide rates during/since the pandemic, but the rates are still well below the peak (which occurred around 1990), and they're leveling off.
