  1. Propaganda film. The makers may, or may not have known it at the time, but it's purely propaganda for the CCP. Notice how uniformity, and obedience is stressed? That attitude is perfectly suited for the socialist/communist agenda, where everyone is supposed to go along with the group like sheep, or cattle. They might call it Chinese tradition, but it's nothing more than subjugation of the masses.
