@NightmareTrash88 I had an abusive stepfather, a bit of a narcissist I think, but so was my mother. I visited my half brother recently when I returned to the US for business. He exhibited some of the same traits as my stepfather, lots of rage, and always worried about what his friends thought, a trait of my mom's. Since I didn't have good role models of parents, I decided it would be best not to repeat the cycle. Most people should not have children, but they do, and their offspring suffer. But, life is suffering, and joy, you cannot separate the two. There is a natural twin aspect to life. The fool is a twin of the wise. Night, day, opposite equals.

No, do not remove. If someone decided to commit suicide based on seeing this, then they were too far gone anyway. In keeping with Stoic philosophy you can either endure life, or not, your choice. For the moment I choose to endure, work to improve myself, and improve my life. At 67, I want to enjoy what I have left to live by actually living, not waiting to die. When I'm done I will hopefully leave with some dignity, as demonstrated by some past teachers. This episode is a teaching episode, like all the others, it provokes thought, that's a good thing, please do not listen to fearful voices.

@mavisfaunafae884 you must be an Aries.... 🤣 Just kidding! Actually, most of my Aries girlfriends did have a temper... 🤔 At least you were aware, and took responsibility, that's a good thing. I love kids, honestly, and I might make a good parent now, but at 67? I'd never get to see them grow up. I still remember an incident where I was dating a lady with a little boy, he was about three, maybe four. He was in the bathtub, upset, crying, I don't know if I had made him cry, but one thing I do remember is that I didn't understand why he was crying. The family I was raised in didn't show love, just anger, rage, dominance, and fear, you walked on eggshells 24/7. When you are raised that way, you don't learn empathy. I eventually left the lady, and her son, they were better off for it.

@NotWhoYouThinkThisBe in my stepfather's case, it was expected if you were a "straight" man, you married, and had children to prove it. In my half brother's case, the first was an accident, not sure about the second child. 🤔 No matter really, he did try to compensate by being his kids "friend," an example, he called his son, "little buddy." Too bad he still had all the rage, and anger he was taught by the example of my stepfather. There was an accidental pregnancy one time with a girlfriend I had, neither of us felt it was right to get married, or have a child together, so we ended it early on. We made what we thought was the correct choice at the time. I do wish people would be honest about their capacity to be parents, and if they really want, or need them.

Good channel, I would cover how home service companies overcharge. Most of the time when you are dealing with a plumber, AC contractor, etc, it is easy to get cheated since these are unfamiliar areas. We always call when there is an emergency, no AC in July, pipes leaking, backed up, whatever, with no time to shop, or research what we should be paying. When you have a "need it now" issue, you are at the most risk of being ripped off.

Airbnb will eventually go down the tubes. They do nothing for clients if a stay goes bad, for instance, not as described, safety issues, failed services like operating plumbing, you name it. I have been in Mexico for two years now, and I have had some terrible experiences, did Airbnb do anything? No, nothing. Mostly the what happens is someone buys a condo in one of the tourist areas, or in a popular city, and sets up shop. Time passes, and things age, but the pictures first taken when the unit was new do not. It's kinda like being catfished on a dating site, you don't know the stay is bad until you get there. I've experienced black mold, beds so worn I could not sleep, sewer smells, and a roach crawl across my face, all in Mexico Airbnb’s. Airbnb rentals in Mexico are a crapshoot. I lived in Thailand for six months, same model of operations there, EXCEPT, short term rentals, like Airbnb are against Thai law, yet, Airbnb operates in the market.

Ok..... You need to quit using my ex-wife as an example... 🤣 These folks are vampires! I had an incident where my ex, who I hadn't heard from for over two years, called me out of the blue one day to just, "see how I was doing." I almost fell for it, BUT, she started in on her needs a little too early, how she was convalescing at a friend's place after breaking her leg, and couldn't work, and had nothing to do.... 🙄 I'm like, "_____, we are divorced, there's nothing for us to talk about, you could have TWO broken legs, and I wouldn't care, don't call again! " I'm sure that shocked her a little, but, she hung up quick! 🤣 This lady wasn't a completely covert narcissist, but a kinda mix of both overt, and covert, the brightly plumed bird that just needed, "a little help."

Perhaps it is our attachment to the pursuit of happiness that is the problem? After all, the Buddha taught us that attachment is the cause of all suffering. I left the US over two years ago, chasing the carrot dangled by YouTube travel channels, it did not go as advertised. 🙄 That said, I have had some experiences that I am grateful for, the "lessons," I experienced were not horrible, and I learned much. Perhaps your experience in Japan was similar, a mix of the anticipated pleasure, unexpected pain, and perhaps preparing you for a return trip. Life is a constant mix of both anticipated, and unexpected, whichever it is, our choice determines how the path goes. Today I am happy, not ecstatic, just content I'm breathing.

@beverly4653 good choice. My half brother has a boy and girl, both spoiled, entitled. When his son was young, he called him "little buddy." He doted on both kids, but never did anything to fix himself, so he modeled behaviors his children later adopted. We were raised in a sick, narcissistic household, that came from another, previous that was the same. I knew I was broken, and wouldn't be a good parent because it wasn't modeled for me, so I didn't try. If you don't think you can, then don't, unless you fix what's broken in you.

Mexico easy? Maybe, if you have help fighting your way past the throngs of transport folks at the Cancun airport to get to the ADO kiosk, then, riding that freezer on wheels for over three hours to Merida...... It’s been four days, and I’m just now thawed out! LOL! All that said, it was worth it, warm, friendly folks, lots to see and do. Not quite so sure about the heat though, you gotta time your outings, unless you are a mad dog, or an Englishman!

Class in Mexico, think plantation stratification in the old south except it has to do with how much Spanish blood you have in you, or, appear to have. This is a wrong thing of course, but most Mexicans seem to accept it. I'm staying at a place in Aijijic owned by a member of an old aristocrat family, she's light skinned, and obviously has European ancestry. Her husband looks a bit more Mexican, if there is such a thing, but the overall vibe is upscale. I think the reason why nobody treats you differently is because you, and I are Americans, and outside of their class system. There are black Mexicans in Mexico, but I don't know their class, or how they are treated. Adventure hat and I say this is a strange county.... 🤠

One thing I didn't hear mentioned is real estate volatility, in my own neighborhood I have seen prices go up and down like a yoyo. There have been times when prices were way up, only to have them crash a few years later. There is one I am aware of, where the house sold for $125,000, then, five years later, it sold for$40,000. This is just one example, there were several like that near me. Boom, bust, boom, bust, over and over again, if you have to sell in a bust cycle, you'll lose your shirt. I have lived in my house for thirty years, right now we are in a boom cycle, I'm selling!

@brooklynn52dee38 seen the same thing in my brother, overcompensation. Ok, so you made some mistakes, most parents do, and you are certainly not the first to make your's. Here's where you should let yourself off the hook. He's an adult now, the actions he takes, moral, immoral, are HIS. It's up to him to overcome, and improve his character, then, if he fails to do this, it is all him. Sounds like he may be a narcissist, I would suggest you look on YT for a Dr. Ramani, she offers on the subject, and how to deal with it. Good luck.

Marx never worked a day in his life, he had no understanding of what it was like to be a worker. He was nothing but a theorist intellectual . He died broke, owing people money. And those "Nordic nations," you mention, which I'm guessing is one of your own, the people slave away to pay the high taxes required to live there. I am unsubscribed from you at this point. Why? Because you criticized my government, especially when you use Trump's images and sound bites. I find it funny that you point out Bezos as this horrible capitalist, when he's one of the biggest supporters of the left. Boy, you'd better take a break from your channel, go out, and live in the real world for awhile instead of just talking about it.

I had a 1976 Chevrolet Vega GT, racing stripes, five speed, positraction, radials, GT wheels, fancy! 🤣 It was a rust bucket after 60,000 miles, but the drivetrain was solid, sold it to a guy that put it in a Monza hatchback, and he put an additional 80,000 on it.

Kinda skirting the edge there on the politics yes? Have you confirmed DT has golden nudes? As far as Elon goes.... Did you know that in the recent crisis in the North Carolina after the flooding from the hurricane that blew inland, he donated his Starlink services because traditional systems were down? Oh, ya, he did this at Donald Trump's request, and gladly it that..... 😎 Most of your content I like, BUT, as a canuck, you shouldn’t cross the border and pick on our folks. Shit, you got your Prime Minister, go after him, he's a HUGE asshole according to my Canadian girlfriend! 🤣

@TheYarbros tell me about it! Just had one roll up Friday, I'm still in the house on temporary occupancy as per the sales contract, tomorrow's my last day. I hear a knock on the door, so I go and look there's a guy with a pad and a ADT yard sign standing there. So, I'm like, "May I help you?" And, he says "I'm just here to process your credit, and get you set up." WTF? We had some words after I refused him. 🤬 Figuring it was a vendor jumping the gun and trying to set up for the new owner, I texted my agent about it. Turns out it's a scam, they look for homes that have recently sold, and drop by on unsuspecting folks acting like it's a common process and scam them.

Adventure Hat and I feel you! I was living in a group home type of situation, we all had our own space, bedroom, bathroom, but shared a kitchen. Not a totally horrible situation, but it put you in contact with other residents. One morning, while I was having my brisky munchings, a Canadian resident came in. This was an old weed smoking hippy, who looked like Grandma Addams. She says, "I know it’s none of my business, but....... Are you vaccinated?" I'm like, "Ya, Pfizer, two times." Then the bleep, hit the fan! "WELL! I hope you’re pleased with yourself! You are spreading dangerous spike proteins to the unvaccinated!" I replied in a kinda proud voice, "Well, yes, I am, actually, I feel it’s my duty." Instantly on her good side! LOL! Nice digs BTW..... I'm in Merida till Wednesday, no clue where to next.

Obviously the gentleman has not seen what passes for a police officer in the US. In the county I lived in, that had went totally blue, we had some female officers that weighed north of 250 pounds. One officer that I saw, a male who had a desk job had to be at least 300. I am guessing the standards in my former county had went out the window due to wokeness. Civilian responders, police, fire, EMT, all must conform to a kept standard, not allowed in to make a quota. Tulsi, I was hoping to see you as Sec. Of Defense, but I'm sure the cabinet position will suit you well. Shaka! 🤙
