As a Canadian you'll be possibly surprised to know that we got many British shows here even though we only had two channels for many years if you didn't have cable. Which we didn't until I was maybe 12 or 13 something like that. But the CBC played a lots shows Like Are you being Served (I didn't really get that one) Minder and comedies like The two Ronnies and of course Benny Hill The Goonies every day at 5pm!! Loved em! Of course Last of the Summer Wine and Many others. But the FORD CAPRI came into my life from Europe here in Canada and I bought TWO!! LOL. Then rally raced them and sold them off when I went on the road touring with my band.

YEA BABY TURBO TURBO TURBO!!!!! YEA!!!! Now I have a warning for ya here. I put some huge power to my 1973 Capri back in the day (around 1985 or so lol) and it was a V6 2.6l with racing pistons high rise manifold headers four barrel carb and it had over 300 hp no questions asked. The only big problem was the Rear end blew out on me almost within the first two months or less. Over heating wasn't a problem surprisingly. So take all this as you wish. ROCK ON BRO!!!

LOL. 10MM Wrench. Of course! You're a HERO for tackling this job!! Not that it's going to be perfect at all but that's not the point! It's going to be BACK ON THE ROAD! AWESOME!!

Hello from Canada! Nice score bud! I had two Capri's in my teen years (Long ago LOL) Both 1973 models and both manual V6 2.6L However one was massively modded with Race cam and pistons, high rise manifold four barrel carb hooker headers. (I think that was it) and it went as you might say "Like the Clappers!" Or as we would say "She's a Ripper!" It was painted Candy Apple Red with a huge Whale Tale on the rear too! It had a body kit on it and looked MEAN! But it kept on blowing out rear end's and when the struts on the front died and the clutch cable snapped for the the second time along with the diff blowing up again I just stopped and drove the stock one. It was great and I actually did a few amateur Rallies. What I wouldn't give to have those European Fords (They were sold under the Mercury name here actually) back NOW! Too bad yours is the tiniest engine available. HOWEVER! I would think it wouldn't be much difficulty finding a V6 maybe a 2.8 or 3.0L even to put into that baby. I haven't yet watched the whole video so I'm praying and hoping it runs like crap so you are motivated to swap that sucker out and make it a fantastic project car we could all watch for a bunch of series videos on it and maybe YOU could go RACING!!! WOW! THAT WOULD BE SOOOOO COOL!! PLEASE!! DO THIS!! If you've ever loved me at all (LOL I'm trying everything here) you'd genuinely see how important this is to me and ALL OF YOUR FAN BASE PLUS ALL of those thousands to come once they catch on that you're the first REAL CAPRI swapping Video EVER (Like I said I'm trying everything LOL) great personality and master mechanic to actually do a full Capri build on you tube! We've been hoping and praying then hugely disappointed each time we see a Capri vid that says "Full resto" or something like that and it's just a bunch of old blurry pictures of a boring ten year paid to get the work done somewhere thing. PLEASE Kind Handsome Brilliant Wise and Generous SIR!! Ooo, maybe even a 5.0L (302CI in our speak LOL!! All the best and think you again for all your great videos!! Sorry this is so long but I'm excited for once about something IMPORTANT!! LOL.

I like this channel and the host is fun too! But I can't get up any great love or excitement for a front wheel drive car. Sorry. But I still thumbs him on this one as he loves it and it is a stick! LOL.

I've been sincerely enjoying your channel for quite a while now. Thank you for the hard work and fun! Plus great cars too! I have one request but you should do whatever you think is best for your channel because it's you not me out there. My thought is that you'd have even better videos and response (maybe) if you improved the sound quality. At times it's hard to hear you with the shop echo and your distance from the camera. A set of lav or lapel mics would go a long way or maybe as you requested the right camera?? I'm not totally sure how some do it. I suspect a lot have pro editors that compress the sound in post production when it goes below a certain level. But I do love you stuff no matter !!

What a great little car! It reminds me of my 1973 Mercury Capri I had (I had two actually) but in the UK and Germany they were the Ford Capri. We got it (Canada) with the 2.6 V6 and then the 2.8 V6. Never the 3.0 Liter. When I saw that the clutch pedal was gone and the gear wouldn't go in the first thing I though was that the clutch itself was stuck to the flywheel not that the cylinder was shot. But I've only watched so far until he's put a new cylinder into the car so I'll see if I'm right or not.....Oh no I think the clutch just broke free and is now wrecked from it's age and time and it disintegrated once the clutch engaged IMHO. LOL. Lets see what happened now (I'm still only 1/2 for the way in the video) LOL. Oj well it turns out was both right and WRONG! LOL. Funny! The clutch was stuck at the beginning then it was the bleeding that needed done then the clutch started to work!! HA HA!

Yes. Only I've never seen a manual version in the west. Ever. LOL. It always changes the car when there's a manual!

HAA ha ha ha LOL!! Oh man! That's little "Lo" joke was SO funny!! Oh and the Pinto engine or "The Iron Duke" as it sometimes called out here in Canada and maybe the USA, wasn't really a "Bad" engine. It was just always seeming tired and it was heavy for a small engine as well it didn't rev very well for a small engine. It kept on not revving well and being heavy and slow for a fair amount of time though so it has been around just lugging along. Boring the world the whole time. LOL. I don't think we got anything smaller than the 2.0L out our way.

The 1.6 should only be given attention if you're replacing the engine with a real engine.

I think you did great on the car except I think maybe a little grinding on those welds on the under side would have been nice LOL.

No, it's carzy (Yes CARZY LOL) to think anyone but a Millionaire or a pro with all the time in the world and a fully equipped machine shop with skills of an English wheel and a way to manufacture little parts of all kinds could ever do this back to original. This man is a hero for tackling it to make it something that will go back on the road again!!

I had the immobilizer holding my car hostage too but I bought a very cheap OBD2 scanner off of ebay and it had the immobilizer code erase in it and it worked a charm!! Mine is a E46 BMW 2002 so maybe find one for the Mercedes and try it for less than $50 for mine!
