I'm not sure about the S62 engine so much. But I have the S54 in my 330CI (Along with all the other E46 M3 parts that are important lol.) and it has a valve on the right side of the engine block that I and many people don't even know is there. It's called the CPV or "Constant Pressure Valve" or "oil pressure relief valve" etc). It is small (about 3/4 to 1 inch in diameter) and often fools mechanics let alone regular motorists into thinking it's leaking from the rear main seal or the oil due to the oil leaking down and across to everywhere. Meanwhile it''s the seal on this small valve (I forget hat it's for even lol) that can be easily reached under the header from underneath and costs cents to replace. Perhaps bmw did something like that on the S62. I could be wasting my comment on this if it doesn't but hey it's worth the risk LOL. It's worth looking into for S62 owners I'd think. Here's a video about replacing it etc. https://youtu.be/Vdc7dGv-3ao

No internal combustion engines are not on the way out. People that are saying this really aren't thinking about what that entails and what it would seriously take to try and convert the world to something that isn't actually a proper equivalent capable up grade. Nuff said do your own research and figure it out. Think diesels, hauling, stations, prices, maintenance, businesses and second world countries. Or even just other countries in general. Oh and no cities have band internal combustion engines anywhere. If I'm wrong please show me the city that has done this. I'm sure some lobbyists will think this is something to pursue but it won't be happening any time soon. It hasn't happened with diesels as they would have to stop all their supply chain of goods and services throughout the city. Diesel trucks make the world go round as well as our neighborhoods.
