  1. Yea it's engine management. They've tuned it for a bit more juice and different gear changes. Ultimately either one should be able to be tuned (well CAN be tuned) to the exact same specs. But the Z4 has been tuned reservedly. Bring either one to a tuner and you will be able to get massive power. Just like the 240i, 235i, 335i, 340i etc or any of their cars with Turbos.
