The reason you haven't been finding many DIY videos on the repairing of the Mechatronics unit in this car is because all the DIY's are being done on BMW's that have this same ZF family of transmission. If you look up the same thing and tag it "E9X 335i transmission fix" or something similar you will find a load of DIY's showing this problem and the fix.
