  15. you forgot to mention that our currency isn't worth anything these days, before 1964, our coinage was made out of precious metals and preserved purchasing power. a silver quarter in 1950 could buy you a gallon of gasoline. that same (silver) quarter today has the same purchasing power and can buy you a gallon of gasoline, but a modern quarter can't. so in reality, the price of gasoline didn't go up, but the value of our money went down; a reduction of wealth through the destruction of purchasing power.

But think of how much prices would have gone down if we were allowed to experience that benefit had the central bank not inflated the money supply, even if it wasn't enough to "cause inflation".
