@harlanjackson6112 last time i checked, standard of living was up across the board when Trump was president, and has fallen significantly for everyone EXCEPT the rich under Biden.

@ghost_martini of course we are going to somewhat recover after the pandemic, but that doesn't mean we are better off today than before the pandemic.

@harlanjackson6112 wealth isn't a pie to be divided up. if people/corporations are taxed, they will pass that cost onto the consumer in order to maintain the same revenues for shareholders. simply put: you can't tax your way to prosperity.

@ghost_martini look around my friend. credit card debt is at an all time high, crimes go unpunished in big cities, businesses are leaving CA en masse, everyone is on edge and living paycheck to paycheck because inflation is at all time highs. if you can't see it then you're lucky to be so insulated.

@harlanjackson6112 i'm saying the business-friendly climate of the Trump administraiton made everyone better off, not just businesses and corporations.

@harlanjackson6112 everything is always in response to an inflating dollar. blame the central bank for devaluing the dollar, don't blame corporations for raising prices in order to recoup what they lost from rising costs.

@harlanjackson6112 if the Fed were actually serious about combating inflation then it would properly measure it. but the fact remains that every "update" to the inflation calculations have always resulted in showing less inflation, never once has it shown inflation to be greater than it was before. that just tells me inflation is underreported on purpose.

@harlanjackson6112 it's not about administrations, this goes back 100 years ago. why has every "update" to the inflation calculation formula always resulted in showing less inflation compared to using the previous formulas?
