Going to disagree that Americans "don't do military parades." We don't do Moscow or DPRK style parades, but I've attended more Memorial Day parades - both as a civilian and in uniform - than I can actually count. The last such parade I was at had more military hardware than was present at this year's May 9 parade.

@JakeBroe oh, and the other big difference between the US and Moscow is that the parades are mostly rural, not in big cities, and the civilian components are still more prevalent - school and university marching bands, veterans societies, and politicians.

@JakeBroe actually, yes. Two M-60 variants on transporters, one M-4 Sherman, and three M-5s - all on their tracks. Big difference from Moscow is that it was the local National Guard that made the effort.

Interesting to me, I used to live near, and work in, Aberdeen, Maryland. It was not unknown to have an M-60 or M-1 pass through town under its own power. Deer Creek Testing and Proving Center was also nearby, and we would tube down the creek whilst they were testing tank chassis there.
