  97.  @thomasdalton1508  10 to 1 is rough estimation of Russian advantage in fire power (artillery, aviation, armour etc). We can use your numbers if you feel like it Mediazona is using graveyards and social media to count fallen Russian soldiers. So it's as accurate as it can be "Russia was on the offensive elsewhere on the frontline" - where? They did pretty much nothing until the attack on Avdeevka in October. And if you're counting tiny random counter attacks all over the frontline, then you should also count Ukrainian counter attacks all over the frontline right now "I would be surprised if the Ukrainian offensive inflicted such high casualties" - it's not offensive or defensive actions that inflict the majority of casualties, but bombing of enemy positions, drones hunting soldiers during rotation, rockets hitting military bases etc. That's why I'm confused why do you think that a huge Russian advantage in fire power can be neglected this easy Also, there's no 3 to 1 ratio between attackers and defenders. I have no idea who gave birth to this myth. 3 to 1 ratio is about the difference in manpower needed to win the battle with far lower casualties than your enemy. For example if 10 guys will fight 10 guys, then there will be only 1 guy left. But if 30 guys will fight 10, then the 10 guys will lose everyone, while 30 guys will lose like 3 (instead of 10). So that general who created this theory was convinced that the greater advantage your soldiers have over the enemy - the less casualties you will have. This has nothing to do with attackers and defenders. And in modern days it's about fire power. A hundred soldiers sitting in a trench will lose to 1 pilot with 3000kg bomb

"That ain't winning, that's losing" - к Украине тоже относится ?

  214.  @Lasse65  no-one is recruiting prisoners in Russia, Ukranian propaganda exists too. And considering that Ukraine left many people from battalion Tornado out of prison (they commited many war crimes in Donbas, including murders of innocent, torture and rape) - I'm 99% it's self projection from Ukranian side You're talking about raw numbers. No-one can give Ukraine 6 million rifles. No-one will fight until every grown male is dead or crippled. Even nazi Germany lost 7 million with population of 80m before being done, despite having best industry and decade of war propaganda, it's 7% of population. And you acting like Ukraine without any industry left will give up only after loosing 15% of population. Btw, Ukranian officials stated that Ukraine is loosing 300 dead every day, so it's around 1000 casualties total. Even if we assume that Ukranians will loose as many as Germany in ww2 percentage wise (2.8m) - it will take 7 years with current death rate. Considering that Ukrainian officials stated that 3 months ago Ukraine lost 50% of their heavy equipment and all NATO supplies only covered 15% of their losses - Ukraine is loosing a lot more equipment than it's receiving. How many years will Ukranians fight with current losses of equipment (50% - 50%*15% is 43% per 3 months)? If every 3 months they will loose 43% of current equipment - in a year they will have 4% equipment left. Of course number will be higher, since Ukraine receives weapons and when you don't have many weapons left - you're a lot more careful. So let's assume that after a year 15% of needed equipment will be left. How exactly can you arm 2.8m man and except them to fight with sticks vs tanks?

  216.  @FancyJones  well, if you stick to western media you should know that before 2022 they were openly talking about nazi issue in Ukraine. For example you can find a great The Guardian video named "Ukrainian nazi training camp" or something like this. It's Azov training camp for kids. My favourite part is around 10min mark where leader of the camp says "yes, there are nazis in Azov, but they aren't training kids", while operator shows one of the trainers with swastika tattoo on his neck. There are also thousands of photos of Ukranian equipment with nazi crosses all over them. Only after 2022 western propaganda decided to portray Ukrainians as heroes Here's some Russian perspective for you. I hate Putin, protested him many times since 2017 and against this war too. I hate this war and wars in general. But the more i read western media the more I want Russia to win. Because i see how western media portray nazis as heroes, i see how "progressive world" calls my entire nation orcs, portrays this conflict as "good vs evil" and despite all their talk about helping Ukraine - they're barely doing anything. Why should i choose side of hypocrites that hate me? And about sanctions. I don't blame Putin for them, i blame west. They don't want to hurt Putin, they want to hurt Russian population. How exactly banning Russian sportsmen from Olympics or Eurovision will help to stop the war? How exactly not letting me buy games on steam will help Ukraine? Shouldn't west flood Russia with iphones and movies so Russians would take money away from Russian economy to buy another game on Steam? And all of my anti Putin friends (except for one) have the same opinion. I don't mind going to war anymore. And the only thing that upsets me about possible mobilization is that I probably won't see NATO soldiers fighting there because they're pussies

  220.  @tuehojbjerg969  according to Washington post and their interview with Ukrainian soldiers from Kherson offensive - during those attacks Ukraine lost at least 5 times more soldiers than Russia. Do you think that Washington post or Ukrainian soldiers are nazis and spreading propaganda? Not all ukrainian soldiers are nazis, don't offend them lol 80% of casualties in any war are caused by artillery and bombs. Russia has more artillery, tanks, planes, helicopters and rockets. USA since 2021 sent to Ukraine 940k dumb 155mm shells and only 4200 GPS guided shells. So only 0.4% of Ukrainian shells are hitting target with precision, everything else is also takes "hundreds of shells to hit a target". Do tou think that Russia used less guided shells than 4200? Do you think Russia has less precision ammunition than they used long range rockets? Why? Also Russian artillery is equal or superior to everything that NATO received from Ukraine. For example himars is just like smerch or Tornado s, tho Russian versions have more rockets. Pzh2000 just like koalitsya sv but Russian version has less crew members. "Attackers always have higher casualties" - no. Name one middle eastern country USA invaded in last 30 years where they would have had higher casualties than defenders. Can you name a single country that lost less soldiers than Germany in ww2 when Germany was attacking? It's about fire power, not about "defender attacker". Especially in modern war. Even in Verden battle in ww1 attacking German force lost less soldiers than defending France You know nothing about this war or wars in general

  221.  @tuehojbjerg969  accuracy isn't about artillery, but about shells. Only 0.4% of ukrainian shells are precise. What artillery are you referring to? All artillery serves different purpose. For example solncepek hits huge area and burnes everyone even inside trenches. Smerch can also hit a huge area or can be as precise as himars (5m radius). It all depends on shell that is used for every particular situation Again, do you think that Russia used less than 4200 precise rounds? And why do you think that way? Russia mobilizing troops because before mobilization every soldier could have cancelled their contracts and leave the frontline with paycheck. Also because Ukraine had like 7 mobilization waves and greatly outnumbered Russian troops on the battlefield. Even if not a single Russian soldier was dead - they still would have needed a mobilization If Russia has more tanks than Ukraine - obviously Russia will loose more tanks. For example in Vietnam USA lost 10000 aircrafts against 300 aircrafts of North Vietnam, does it mean that Vietnam had better planes and helicopters? Also there's no such thing as ukrainian tank, they are all Soviet Russia has by far better rockets (nothing is even close to speed of Russian kinzjal while Russia also has Sarmat which is 5 times faster than kinzjal), air defence and extremely good artillery. Can you name artillery piece that doesn't have superior or equal Russian analogue? Well, except for m777 because stationary artillery is shite and Russia uses koalitsya sv to do the same thing, but without getting destroyed
