@cv990a4 it's not about raw numbers of troops, but about fire power. 50 guys with rifles in the trench can't win against a single tank. 300 soldiers in training camp can't win against 2 pilots of strategic bomber. 100 guys in well fortified area can't win against 10 dudes with 2 artillery pieces. Russia can't afford to push as fast as in first few weeks of war. But bombarding Ukrainian troops while slowly pushing forward is minimising losses for Russia

@cv990a4 no-one is recruiting prisoners. Some random person said it and Ukrainian propaganda capitalised on it Everyone always wants more troops. When was the last time someone said "damn, i wish we had less soldiers on the battlefield" Russia can mobilize few million conscripts at any time, they have enough equipment to do that

@terjeoseberg990 Ukraine was part of Russia for a thousand of years, since Knyaz' of Novgorod (Russia ln city) captured Kiev and called his new lands Kievan Rus'.

@cv990a4 Soviet industry and infrastructure haven't disappeared, Russia still has it. Nothing stops Putin from saying "we captured so much territory that we are struggling with guarding it, so we will mobilize only 20k troops and won't send them to the frontline, don't worry guys, everything is according to plan", then mobilize 200k and send them on Ukranian head on. How do you know that anyone recruiting in prisons? Again, one person said it, Ukranian propaganda made a huge deal out of it. There's no way for anyone to confirm it

And considering that Ukraine left many people from battalion Tornado out of prison (they commited many war crimes in Donbas, including murders of innocent, torture and rape) - I'm 99% it's self projection from Ukranian side You're talking about raw numbers. No-one can give Ukraine 6 million rifles. No-one will fight until every grown male is dead or crippled. Even nazi Germany lost 7 million with population of 80m before being done, despite having best industry and decade of war propaganda, it's 7% of population. And you acting like Ukraine without any industry left will give up only after loosing 15% of population. Btw, Ukranian officials stated that Ukraine is loosing 300 dead every day, so it's around 1000 casualties total. Even if we assume that Ukranians will loose as many as Germany in ww2 percentage wise (2.8m) - it will take 7 years with current death rate. Considering that Ukrainian officials stated that 3 months ago Ukraine lost 50% of their heavy equipment and all NATO supplies only covered 15% of their losses - Ukraine is loosing a lot more equipment than it's receiving. How many years will Ukranians fight with current losses of equipment (50% - 50%*15% is 43% per 3 months)? If every 3 months they will loose 43% of current equipment - in a year they will have 4% equipment left. Of course number will be higher, since Ukraine receives weapons and when you don't have many weapons left - you're a lot more careful. So let's assume that after a year 15% of needed equipment will be left. How exactly can you arm 2.8m man and except them to fight with sticks vs tanks?

I'm also curious how exactly Ukrainian government counted 200k Russian casualties, since Ukranian are loosing territories every day and their only counter offensive stopped without starting
