@hungrymusicwolf Putin hasn't invaded a single country that wasn't bombing civilians at Russian borders
29
@hungrymusicwolf No. There were always Russian soldiers in a naval base in Crimea. The local parliament voted to join the Russia fair and square. And when it comes to the Donbas and actual bombings - Turchinov announced an "anti terrorist operation" against Donbas civilians a week before Strelkov and like a dozen soldiers crossed the Ukrainian border. So even if Russians weren't there - Ukraine would still roll over the protestors with tanks And why hasn't Ukraine stopped the bombing and followed the Minsk agreements? Why would Zelensky secretly buy American weapons in 2019, which Blinken recently admitted?
26
@Wallyworld30 so now you understand Putin perfectly - he doesn't want the biggest country in Europe to became another NATO lapdog. Btw, before the 2014 coup, Ukraine and Russia had good relationships with Europe, so what was the issue? Why was the coup necessary?
21
@jesp1423 Georgia bombed civilians of South Ossetia. That's when Russia stepped in. South Ossetia got its independence, it hasn't joined Russia and the region has been peaceful ever since. Saakascvilly was smart enough to not draft everyone to fight the unwinnable war for no reason whatsoever.
21
I'm Russian and I also want peace. Would be great if Ukraine wasn't bombing Donbas civilians and oppressing Russian culture. Putin tried to negotiate since 2014 and since 2022. Ukraine could have been in EU already if Poroshenko or Zelensky decided to stop the war and let the Donbas and Crimea go The EU is also a defensive alliance btw
19
@maciejkowalski2759 even amnesty international admitted that Ukraine was shelling the Donetsk with cluster ammo. You can't expect to hit military targets with inaccurate grad rockets
13
@Pickle1762 Ukraine sacrificing thousands to hold 2% of Kursk isn't a powerful card, considering that Russia takes the rest of Ukraine at record speed. If Ukraine can't hold the Donbas - they can't hold Kursk I'd say it's more embarrassing to sacrifice thousands of your best troops in an unnecessary PR stunt like Kursk or Krinky
9
@polinaporechna2008 Donetsk wasn't under active siege. That's why Ukraine randomly sent a dozen of grad rockets at random places killing a few dozen of people each time for no reason whatsoever
9
@sidyaking according to Budapest memorandum - Ukraine should have remained sovereign and independent, but they lost sovereignty in 2014 coup. Since then - nobody owed them anything
8
@deaddycruel в Палестине за месяц погибло больше гражданских, чем за 3 года на Украине
6
@suprotyv7534 Yeah, after Crimean parliament asked Russia for help. There's zero evidence of Russian soldiers doing any harm to civilians or threatening them. Btw, this parliament, in its entirety, continued working as part of Russia
5
@olegbobrovskiy3244 that what peace negotiations are for. They could have stopped the war 3 years ago if not for Boris Johnson. And they could have avoided the war completely if Ukraine continued to follow Minsk instead of receiving weapons in secret which Blinken recently admitted
4
@Pickle1762 Are you implying that Ukraine haven't lost thousands in Kursk during last months? "No particular success" - they recaptured half of what Ukraine took and dropping fabs on Ukrainian elite brigades which Ukraine keeps sending there for no reason "Could have been used elsewhere" - yeah, just like those Ukrainian elite brigades. But it's Ukraine which has huge manpower shortages, but decided to stretch the frontline even further. Because of that Russia takes land in the Donbas at record speed We haven't seen a single piece of evidence of North Koreans being anywhere in European part of Russia "Huge success" - so what was the Ukrainian goal there? Well to determine if it was a success or not. Do they need to hold it? For how long? Why would they attempt another land grab in Kursk then? Have they failed to capture something and need to attack again? Or they succeeded in something and now can retreat with victory? Russia is a super power because they outproduce entire NATO and currently have the strongest army on earth. How would you call them? "Who can't hold its borders in check" - if Ukraine wants to waste their elite brigades to hold a Pyatorochka in Kursk, while their most fortified parts of the frontline are being overrun - I see no reason for Russia to be in a hurry to kick Ukraine out of Kursk. Do you see such reasons?
3
@Pickle1762 don't remember Zhukov fighting in drone era when any action can be seen. But currently Russia takes like 4 times more ground per month than Ukraine took during their entire 2023 summer offensive when they planned to take Crimea According to Syrsky - Russia increased the amount of tanks and artillery on the battlefield since 2023 by 3 times. So yeah, storages are getting emptied because equipment is being used According to mediazona - Russian losses are currently around 1500-2500 soldiers per month, which is pretty average. That's around 70 soldiers per day. For comparison according to Zelensky's advisor Podolyak, during the defence of Severodonetsk Ukraine was losing around 200 soldiers KiA per day. And it was before Russia started using fabs. Why do you think that Ukrainian losses are lower than Russian, despite Russia having a huge advantage in fire power? Especially considering that both sides recruit around 30k soldiers per month, while only Ukraine has horrible manpower shortages? Apparently Russians value lives of their soldiers much more than Ukraine values theirs since Russia never sacrificed thousands for PR stunts like Krinky or Kursk. Russia also never let their troops get encircled in Mariupol Lysichansk Severodonetsk Bahmut Avdeevka Ugledar Soledar and now near Kurahovo.
3
@user-sw7ln9ro7y "a dozen killed isn't a reason to start a war" - sooo, if Ukraine and Russia achieved a peace deal, but Russia was randomly shelling the neatest cities with grad rockets from time to time and killing a dozen or two people a year - you would be totally ok with it? What if Russia did it to some European country or USA? If those countries attacked Russia and Putin said "omg, us killing a dozen people per year for fun - isn't a reason to start a war against us, that's just wrong" - you would side with Putin?
3
@vk1926 1) Both sides are using civilian cars (donated to brigades) to deliver supplies and move soldiers around. There physically can't be enough armoured vehicles considering that both sides are producing 2 million drones per year. 2) Russia is using bikes because they're less visible and they're harder to hit, even Ukrainian soldiers praised that tactics. If 10 guys are sitting in a BTR - you can damage it and stop the attack with one drone or you can hit it with artillery and eliminate entire squad. But it's impossible to hit 10 guys in 10 bikes with artillery, while you need to 10 times more drones to hit them. And it's harder to miss them too 3) I mean, Russia will keep grinding Ukrainian forces in Kursk and will retake it eventually. But Russia never really cared about political damage. They had no issues with retreating from Kiev or Kherson. And it's not like they're rushing to retake Kursk too 4) "if Ukraine could push other parts of the front - they would" - yeah, that's the whole problem. What's the point in prolonging the war if they can't retake the ground? What are they waiting for? It's been clear that it will be almost impossible to push Russia out after the 2023 summer offensive. Attacking somewhere for the sake of attacking - doesn't achieve anything
2
@Sperhirni123 Georgia was bombing the civilians of South Ossetia Russia hasn't invaded Belarus, what are you on about? Chechnya was full of terrorists and even now Chechens are fighting whatever is left of them Crimea wanted to "part ways" with Ukraine because Crimea wanted to be part of Russia, same with the Donbas. Why hasn't Ukraine let them go? If you want to go back in history - we can remember how Russia was invaded twice by entire Europe in 1812 and 1941. I also remember how Poland allied with Hitler and took part in Czechoslovakia. And I also remember how Finland allied with Hitler and invaded the USSR too. History is complex huh
2
@adrien5834 so Russia shouldn't have cared about eastern Ukrainians despite them being the same country for hundreds of years? Do you think western countries also shouldn't support Ukraine since Russia isn't bombing the EU or NATO?
2
@adrien5834 can I apply the same logic and say that Ukraine doesn't care about eastern Ukraine since they want to reclaim it by force? War sucks
2
@planet-karma it's not Russia's fault that Ukrainian leaders decided to use the war as a PR tool
2
@AC-qz3uj wdym mass murder? Less civilians died in Ukraine in 3 years than in 1 month in Gaza. It's one of the rare conflicts with less civilian than military casualties
1
Is this why he ordered his militia to beat up and snatch people off streets to throw them into the military? Is this why his goal is to return to 1991 borders, which means enslavement of the people of the Donbas and Crimea against their will to leave Ukraine? Wow, what a great leader
1
@Pickle1762 is this why Putin tried to negotiate since 2014 while Zelensky banned negotiations by law? Brainwashed much?
1
@vk1926 elite brigades have priority in receiving new recruits and have far more equipment to do anything. Unlike some random brushes which are filled by men who were beaten up and snatched off streets Russia is using bikes to avoid being spotted. And considering that they take ground at record speed - the strategy is working And why would Russia take Kursk into consideration during negotiations? If Ukraine can't hold the most fortified positions in the Donbas - they definitely can't hold Kursk. Also if Ukraine sacrificed thousands for a better negotiation deal - why haven't negotiations stated yet? Wouldn't it be better to push Russia back inside Ukraine itself? Negotiations are still banned by law in Ukraine btw
1
@nicholasdworcowyi4044 50k according to who? Obvious Ukrainian war propaganda? We haven't seen a single North Korean btw. Do you realise that Ukraine is losing much more soldiers than Russia due to the huge Russian advantage in fire power? Wars aren't linear. In November Russia took 4 times more ground than in entire 2023, it's 50 times acceleration. Do you think the trend will continue or do you think that the conscription of 18yo kids will help Ukraine ?
1
@falloutfeels in 2023 Russia took 400km² in total, currently they're taking around 400km² per month. And after Ukraine decided to sacrifice thousands of their elite troops in Kursk - Russia was taking up to 800km² per month. But you're right, Russia indeed slowed down during mud season
1
@Pickle1762 So, 2 months later. Was the Kursk a "powerful card for negotiations" or was it just a PR stunt, which wasted thousands of Ukrainian lives for no reason whatsoever, similarly to Krinky? Waiting for an apology
1
@Evgeniy.Rovenskiy actually it's the only option. Ukraine was a pretty good country when it was neutral. Now it's in ruins because Zelensky believed in people who "didn't give a fuck" about Ukraine
1
@purpplekushh Majority of Ukrainian population voted for a pro Russian Ukrainian candidate. If there was no coup in 2014 in Kiev - eastern Ukrainians wouldn't want to leave Ukraine
1
@mxs8102 huh? Putin hasn't invaded a single country that wasn't bombing civilians at Russian borders. Literally, neutrality is the best option. Ukraine was totally fine before 2014 coup
1
@Massivecarcrash I guess you forgot how Ukraine was bombing civilians of the Donbas for almost a decade before Russia stepped in Yeah, not making peace with Russia is cool and all, but the longer Zelensky waits - the worse the Ukrainian situation gets. Do you want them to survive as a nation or not? Because they already lost half of their population since 2014 and have one of the lowest birth rates on earth. How many Ukrainians are you willing to sacrifice to retake Crimea?
1
@virariueb7182 that's a lie. Yanukovich wanted to sign trade agreements with EU while already having a trade agreement with Russia. BOTH EU and Russia told him that there can only be one trade agreement because BOTH EU and Russia didn't want their markets to be flooded with foreign goods through Belarus Also, in leaked 2022 negotiations documents - there's not a single word about the EU. Ukraine could have joined the EU a decade ago if they weren't bombing the Donbas. And notice how now Zelensky also begs for NATO, despite EU being a defensive alliance on top of economical one So, are you lying on purpose or what?
1
@overpope3510 US invaded Cuba in 1961. I also remember how NATO invaded half of the middle east and started orange revolutions in many countries close to Russia and tried it in Russia itself
1
@ThomasDanielsen1000 US did invade Cuba in 1961. Called Bay of Pigs invasion
1
@vasilimacharadze139 huh? Russia didn't invade Georgia in 1992, they invaded them in 2008, when Georgia started bombing civilians of South Ossetia. And NATO has existed since 50s. What are you on about?
1
@ThomasDanielsen1000 and Russia has every right to keep enemy alliance out of their line of sight using military. Do you realise that there would be no war if Ukraine remained in the grey zone instead of becoming a western lapdog?
1
@vasilimacharadze139 1) Abhazia isn't part of Russia, so no, Russia hasn't taken anything. And no, Russia didn't invade Georgia, tho yeah, Russia did bombed them 2) Russia hasn't taken Abhazia too, it's still an independent nation. 3) In both cases Georgia started bombing civilians at Russian borders because they wanted independence. I'm curious, if China "invaded their own land" - would you also consider anyone who decided to help Taiwan "evil" or something ? Because in my eyes everyone should have the right to determine the future of their land
1
@vasilimacharadze139 1) Foreign pilots in other lands. By this logic - Israel invades all its neighbours every month 2) Russia doesn't control those countries, they have their own leadership and elections 3) Both times Georgia fired the first shot. Or do you think that those Georgians were paid by Russia?
1
@vasilimacharadze139 am I wrong? It wasn't Georgia who fired the first shot? And you haven't answered a question about China and Taiwan. Would you consider any country that decided to help Taiwan "invaders of China" and call those countries bad names?
1
@vasilimacharadze139 Why are you avoiding the question about Taiwan? Yeah, Chechnya could have been independent just like the rest of former USSR countries. Unfortunately it was flooded with terrorists who killed hundreds of children in Beslan Abhazia tried to become independent and sovereign from Georgia long before the war broke out. Russia had nothing to do with tensions between Georgians and Abhazians
1
@vasilimacharadze139 I'm asking about Taiwan and Israel because I'm curious, if you actually have a strong opinion on foreign interventions and fighting for independence or if you're believing whatever the media tells you to believe. Because the majority of pro Ukrainian supporters I encounter are complete NPCs. For example somehow I saw people who justified Israel taking part of Syria, but antagonized Russia for taking part of Ukraine, which sounds pretty weird I'm curious, do you think that supporting the one side of the civil war is wrong and evil ? When it comes to Georgia for example. Because Abhazians, Georgians and Ossetians are different nationalities and never really liked each other. So I don't understand what's so bad about Russia helping them gain independence.

1
@ТомараАрестова ой, а где конкретно я не прав? Почему-то про украинские дурачки споры не вывозят и предпочитают сливаться. Интересно, с чем это связано
1
@GamerFavor if the west wasn't throwing Ukraine under the bus - there would be no war. I guess you forgot that it was Boris Johnson who ordered to stop negotiations. And recently Blinken admitted that in 2019 USA started secretly arming Ukraine for the war against Russia.
1
@StrataVision is this why Boris Johnson was able to order Zelensky to stop negotiations and to "just fight" ? Is this why Biden and Blinken convinced Zelensky to start 20223 summer offensive, despite Zelensky and Zaluzhny complaining, that they don't have enough weapons to do anything of value? Is this why the UK was planning a Ukrainian landing in Krinky and was sacrificing thousands there for like 8 months? Is this why NATO didn't allow Ukraine to strike Russia for almost 3 years? Is this what you guys in the west call partnership?
1
@StrataVision "Ukraine is a partner, not a slave" - is this why Zelensky was ordered to stop negotiations by Boris Johnson? Is this why Biden forced Ukraine to start 2023 summer offensive, despite Zaluzhny and Zelensky complaining about the lack of equipment? Is this why UK planned the Krinky operation and sacrificed thousands there for no reason? Is this why Ukraine wasn't allowed to strike Russian soil for almost 3 years?
1
@suprotyv7534 walking in parliament or gunning everyone down or something? Because the head of Ukrainian parliament Aksenov publicly asked for Russian help
1
@АртемС-р2ч no, ato started on April 11, but was announced on April 7 by Turchinov. Video is on YouTube
1
@mdolfjitler9833 Ukraine also bombed Donbas civilians since 2014. They're the same people and could have lived in peace if Putin Zelensky and Poroshenko weren't sacrificing thousands for ego
1
@adrien5834 according to official UN report - 80% or civilian casualties were on rebel controlled territory
