As a soldering expert, I must say: 12:07 - Right 13:30 - Wrong. Wires that are subject to pulling forces should always be twisted together before soldering. Plus, the fact that you're working in situ and in an awkward position is all the more reason to twist the wires together and avoid all that clamping needed to keep them in place when doing parallel soldering. 14:20 - You should know by now that any metal object that you put in contact with the wires will dissipate the heat, so that clamp was basically sucking some heat from the wire and that's why it took longer to make the solder melt.
