But even so, these modern 4-stroke outfits don't hold a candle in terms of dangerousness to the 500cc 2-stroke era, when the engines were directly derived from the MotoGP bikes: almost the same power as today's litre engines but much more nimble and light. Those were the real widowmakers! Fun Facts about the F1 and F2 categories: on the F2's the engine is in front of the driver (or below, depending on how you look at it) but on the F1's the engine must be behind the driver, making the outfits slightly longer than the F2's.
