@panache8722 They will follow him, even if he leads them over a cliff. They scarier thing is what they might do if he incites them even further than he is now.

@ericoxner9767 Couldn't agree more. I don't react so much with hatred for these people. It's more disappointment, sadness and worry. They are going to hurt themselves and other people.

Trump in a way is a genius. He eyed down his audience better than any corporation did. He figured out who the scared and stupid people are. These people are far more vulnerable...and that means they are totally malleable. He CULTivated that and created this cult of personality that exists today. He was also smart enough to see it already bubbling under people like Palin, Bachmann and the Tea Party movement. He swept in and got these people. He even got these people, who claim to be evangelical and Christian to sell out their own faiths. While people wrongly dismiss Trump as stupid, he is insidious.

Something that hasn't been discussed but needs to be. The fallout IF he is impeached/removed from office or voted out. There needs to be an exit strategy, for both Trump and his radicalized followers. If Trump is removed from office before the election, close attention must be paid to his followers. These people are radicalized and armed to the tits. Same for if he gets voted out. Also, Trump will tie up everything in litigation if he is voted out. Expect a long and expensive impediment. He will cost the taxpayers even more than he does now. When you get cancer, it never leaves willingly and can cause as much damage to its host as it exits. There needs to be an exit strategy for Trump.

@grmpEqweer I felt the exact same way. Was watching up here in Canada. I knew henwas going to win, but hoped he wouldn't. In Trump's case, all he needed to sell was the sizzle because, as you pointed out, there is no steak at all. Well put. Cheers from Ottawa.

thievesarmy I disagree. There is one thing that Trump is a genius at. Marketing and branding. Even if the steak is toxic, he sells sizzle. He knew exactly who is audience was and how to reach them. He is totally successful at this. Hence, the cult of personality that exists now.

thievesarmy I disagree. Branding is all Trump has. Everything else has failed...sizzle, no steak It wasn't sheer luck at all. His base never forgave themselves for a black guy being president. Trump understood this and worked it like a surgeon. He also watched that stupid tea party movement...he saw that dangerous morons like Palin, Bachmann and Cruz didn't scare Americans enough. Luck had nothing to do with it. It was an angry, scared and stupid populace and he timed it beautifully.

thievesarmy again...disagree. can't really say it again. He saw his opportunity...the timing WAS perfect for the reasons I stated. You're misunderstanding this insidious fool which is how he got elected, popular vote or not. Everyone made a huge mistake by fluffing him off. The base already radicalized by the tea party movement is unbelievably malleable. Trump saw this and "moved on them like a bitch". I knew he was going to be the president. And cringing as I say this, he will again. VOTE.
