Curious, this is <exactly> why I don't believe in government intervention. Any intervention will absolutely assume that the whole society behaves like a spreadsheet or mathematical formula that can easily be predicted and corrected and not as millions of lives with their own wills and impacts on the concrete economy.
> Just look at the inflation that happened post-covid, it was a market distortion that was inevitably going to flatten out over time and yet many peoples lives were significantly worsened in the time it takes for the market to stabilize again.
Again, this is more of a problem for you, you just said we are real people having real lives and now you are talking about the real economy as a bunch of "curves" that will "flatten out".
> Arguing "don't worry, market forces will take effect" is like saying "don't worry about the tsunami, sea levels will return to normal after it hits!"
I also never said that, you need to worry, you don't need to act. In fact, it is not even that you don't need to act, it is more that you <should not> act because you are completely unable to predict the real world consequences of any state action over the markets over time, you literally don't know if the measures you will take to "correct the market" (again, taking it as a bunch of statistics and not like a thing composed of real people, like you supposedly defend) will backlash in the long term and make peoples lifes much worse than the short term benefit.
