You will have better chances of understanding the algorithm if the names actually say what they represent instead of being random alphabet letters or combinations of letters that only people already familiarized with the code or algorithm understands. If you can read you can understand the code, but if the code is a mess of unreadable names it is much harder to do so (why exactly do you think one of the most brainless things to obfuscate code is to literally randomize variable names in code?).
