  9. He never trafficked illegal drugs, he had a free market site, just that and this is what you are missing. Cartels DIRECTLY sell drugs, so even on this account you cannot say he is a "trafficant of illegal drugs". And in the end of the day what matters is the morality, not the law by itself.

As for what we know, Green himself (one of the supposed targets) said he believed Ross would not hire a hit on him, and we know there were shady things on the case (including his accounting being controlled by literal cops before the arrest, the question that it was probably controlled also by other people that participated in silk road, etc).

  24. @ You can't assure he issued all of those ones, because we only have indirect evidence of the case and a fairly limited one (on the blackmail case). And mainly because he never got the chance of speaking his own version, he was arrested, so maybe now he will be able to put his side. I also think saying he did those things because he "wanted full control" is extremely unproductive, you don't know the man motivations. (There is also a case to be made that DPR was not only his account, but shared by others, something people talk less)

  28. @ The average time in jail for drug trafficking is 17 months tho, and he did neither of the two. His site was merely a portal for people to do drug selling, so I don't think even 10 years make sense.

If you have an extreme leftist view probably many ideas that are not of the right will look more and more like they are the right for you (there is no "right-wing vibes", because vibes [are] subjective). Take a libertarian for example, Konkin considered himself leftist, and many leftists consider him a leftist because many of his views (like the boss-worker system being a bad thing), but other many consider him a rightist because he was an anarcho-capitalist, there are many definitions of left and right and they generally clash depending on who is analyzing.

For example, when the right was in power we criticized it, then what is perceived as the right called us the left and hinted to the things that we have in common with them, and when the left is in power we criticize it and those same people call us rightists, while leftists call us rightists. It all boils down to who you appease. Obviously I can't say this for USA, I don't live there, but it looks to me that those things are indeed similar, depending to who you ask you may be left or right. As for your original intent, I don't know, I think agorism (the core philosophical and political ideas Ross and I defend) is considered to be left-wing generally, so Jeff posting about him can make me see him as somewhat inclined to the left (plus the usual criticism he does about corporations for example). But maybe you saw something more, something I did not saw, so please explain to me that "right-wing vibes" you saw so I can comprehend that better.

And also, trump is not a libertarian, if the comments are right he did it because of a temporary alliance, it is still good that Ross was freed anyways.

  48. @ The intent was to kill a blackmailer that threatened him and his life, so I think this evens out even from a moral perspective, even if it is still problematic to some extent. It is also hardly provable that he did everything they accused him, even in trying.
