  2.  @MedicatedGorilla  Fast Fourier Transform is not the same algorithm as fourier transform, however, it has different properties and precision, it is not just an "improvement" as it is a different way of doing the thing more efficiently. If your point is that merely improving an algorithm is a discovery, then we had AI's doing discoveries much before this one, there are examples like AI being used to improve LLVM native code generation that are already representative of this.
