  3. 18:37 I'm a pharmacist by trade. We have a very rudimentary training in organic chemistry. Drawing the chemical diagram for an amino acid is child's play even at that level. Heck, I was doing that even before university for A-Level Chemistry. It's not hard at all!

Even if the reaction was reversible, and the molecules constantly broke down and reformed, and that water concentration on one side pushes the reaction towards the monoamines, it does not prevent it. In any case, it is not reversible. The peptide bond formed is covalent, ie it would be chemical stable and will require something more reactive than water or the presence of a peptidase to break it.
