  1. Modern democrats and 1860s democrats have basically nothing in common. The two parties switched positions and the former Democrats turned tail and became Republicans because LBJ gave rights to blacks.

  2. Um.... modern Republicans were the slave holders. They changed their name to Republicans and pretended to be the "Party of Lincoln" because how dare LBJ give rights to blacks.
