  7. Legal liability. If the media goes around claiming "This man's totally a criminal and totally guilty", they get sued for defamation if he's acquitted and interfering with the suspect's ability to get a fair trial.

Under US law, public figures such as politicians, celebrities, prominent business leaders, etc have an additional standard of proof known as "actual malice" that must be proven in order to win a defamation case. In order to win, Trump must prove they either intentionally lied, or acted in reckless disregard for the truth (they had serious doubts to its accuracy and published it anyways). Even if he isn't guilty, he needs to prove the media knew that, otherwise he loses. The court case for this is called New York Times Co vs Sullivan, by the way. It's what keeps the Apollo astronauts from bankrupting the conspiracy theorists.

This will be done by ordering a lab comparison between the letter and another piece of handwriting he has performed.

US Law prevents celebrities, politicians, and other persons of public noteworthiness from winning a defamation case unless they are able to prove an additional standard of proof known as "actual malice". In order to win, Trump needs hard proof that the media either knew the claims of his guilt were false, or had serious doubts and published them anyways. Simply being wrong is not sufficient.

Under New York Times Co vs Sullivan, he has an additional standard of proof that's nearly impossible to prove that would require him to show with evidence that the media's intentionally and knowingly spreading false information they know or suspect to be a lie. Being wrong isn't good enough for politicians and celbrities to win.

  12. Instead of blaming lib media, maybe you should learn how the real world works. That's not because of the media being bad. It's the media covering their corporate asses. News companies frequently refer to criminals - even those caught in the act - as "suspect" and "alleged" pending trial because his guilt has not been lawfully proven yet, and if he's acquitted and they openly call him guilty, he can turn around and sue them.

  13. You want to treat guns and cars the same. Okay fine. Ban unlicensed carry outside of your own private property with the possible exception of IMMEDIATE self defense. In order to carry in public, you should be required to carry a license with a photo ID at all times, just like when driving a car. This license will require mandatory competence display issued by a government agency akin to the DMV, and will require regular renewal every few years. Unlicensed carry will result in a 200 dollar fine. There, now guns will be treated like a car. Now, watch the pro-"freedom" start screaming bloody murder.

If Trump dies, they win and are in a position to get away with quite a lot because people are going to buy into the false tears for sympathy. It is absolutely, 100% in their best interests to use Trump as a martyr and blame it on the dems.

This is read by many people as saying that these can be removed with due process. If you don't think that it's constitutional and really want felons to have guns, you're welcome to try and challenge it. So, did you know that ATF tracked approximately 1/4 of the illegal guns in Chicago to only ten gun stores in Illinois and Indiana and found over 2,000 stores that had deliberately bypassed federal regulations and cooked their books to make illegal sales? And yet when the investigation ended (shortly after the Trump administration took over, I'm sure this is a coincidence), they were all let off with nothing more than finger waggles and stern looks. See what happens when you don't arrest people the first time they commit a crime? But you would never, ever arrest a crooked vendor because guns are sacred. Republicans are so soft on crime that you could spread them on toast.

Apparently, Colorado's Republican governor candidate declared this week that he intends to end popular voting an institute an extremely rigged electoral college based on voter turnout percentage, which would allow small counties of only a few thousand people to outvote the 700,000 population city of Denver. We knew that the Republicans were planning to rig elections but this is disgusting. The 2nd Amendment is supposed to allow the citizens to prevent government oppression, right? Sounds like it's about time to use it.
