You can SEE what the "gun" is if you pay attention: a few seconds before, a highlight appears on the passenger's hair, he leans forward, then leans back right before the shot. There is no gun. It's the movement of the passenger's head. The driver also doesn't have his arm wrapped around his chest, which he'd need to do if he was shooting behind him.
