Pro Tip: You can get married (multiple times if you want), have children, live and travel all over the world and build up a great career, retirement benefits and net worth - all at the same time. I'll have more children if possible, they are such a joy!

@PharmacyTechLabs The worst childcare situation is in Germany. No joke. It's easy to find affordable, convenient daycare in the US. Absolutely not so in Germany.

@PharmacyTechLabs Right, you can take 3 years off and kill your career (which some women have to do because a lot of daycares in Germany don't take children younger than 3) or you can come back after 1 year and get "a" job back, but not necessarily "your" old job back. It happened in a lab that I managed. We had to replace someone who was on maternity leave for a year and when she came back, she was put into some kind of unrelated job.
