  2. Because it's the absolute truth and has stood the test of time. Back in the 1980s when I was old enough to date, the older women would say, "if he's not in hot pursuit, forget about it". And I've seen this to be true - if a man is not initiating conversation, giving compliments, asking you on a date, etc. He is NOT interested.

  7. Nobody has to point it out because it's common knowledge and normal human nature. The problem is that over the past 30 years or so, men are being taught that women who desire and expect a provider man as a mate are "gold diggers" and are abnormal.

  17. @jonprince3237  Oh, I think all that must have been meant for your wife, because in my world, a challenge isn't equivalent to conflict. For example, medical school was challenging, but it didn't involve conflict. Running a marathon under 4 hours is challenging, but there's no conflict involved.

  18. @jonprince3237  So, I hope that you've deduced that challenging can be learning to ice climb with your wife, if you're new to the sport. Or she speaks out on B.S. instead of keeping quiet to avoid making waves. Or, it could be that a woman has some mystery about herself during the courting phase which makes a man want to know more about her. Or maybe, it's a challenge to meet or exceed her standards in a certain area. Mind you, this has nothing to do with competing with a spouse. I hope this makes some sense for you because it sounds like you're around unstable people a lot.
