@klausbrinck2137 Your gibberish is not only a rather inaccurate glossing over of the truth, it is also not related to your post, my post, nor the original post of this thread. Even after the revolution, Stalin's USSR was directly and intentionally responsible for the deaths of millions of its own citizens. The "unsurpassed rise in living standards and industry" in the Soviet Union was more that they could simply borrow and steal the technology that already existed in the world, and in fact received a lot of help from its erstwhile "enemies" in the west in doing so.

@klausbrinck2137 When you are starting pretty much near the stone age of serfdom, rising to only 20 or 30 years behind the "developed world" isn't saying much. Both the USSR and PRC had reoccurring shortages and famines AFTER they implemented socialism, the Soviets because they spent all their resources trying (and failing) to compete militarily with the US, and the Chinese only became prosperous after they embraced capitalism. Yes, your idiotic ignorance is showing.

@shakaD88 And then things went down hill from there as production dropped off and the accumulated screwups of central planning manifested themselves, wide spread pollution, killing the Aural Sea, until the whole thing rolled over and died in 1991 and people were once again starving in the street. @ITILII Because communism/socialism is extremely inefficient and does not produce innovation, so the only thing it can export for (lol) capital is raw materials, basic goods , and food. When you are a totalitarian autocrat, you don't care of some (or alot) of the people you don't like starve as long as you get more money to stay in power.

@infantjones Provide one novel technology that the Soviet Union created? Just one. The rest of your post is bass-ackwards revisionism and rationalization. @infantjones Other than everything you state is completed decoupled from reality? The growth of GDP and productivity to both the USSR and PRC post WWII came from primarily the "peace dividend" and baby-boom, but directly from the mechanization of agriculture and the use of modern farming techniques, NOT the "genius of communism", which actually stifled growth relative to the West.

Like for example your cheerypicked little nugget; "Soviet GDP growth was its strongest on average pre-WW2" because it went from completely deadlined zero in the chaos of the civil war to the reconstruction and reorganization of the '30s. The Russians did have a baby boom post war (a lot of it was in E. Germany and the rest of "Liberated" E. Europe. as Soviet troops enjoyed the spoils of victory) so, you are also wrong there too. You do know that the Chinese were still fighting their own civil war into the late '40s right, so their growth was delayed by a decade and then you had the cluster fuck of the "Cultural Revolution". So take your warmed over propaganda and shove it up your ass.

@geoeconomics3067 That the people of the USSR were able to accomplish anything at all while under the yoke of socialism is a testament to them, not to their government. Strangely technology seems to have continued to advance after 1992, so your theory appears to be incorrect.

One: reactive armor was developed successfully by Israel and "borrowed" by the Soviets. Failing to invent something first doesn't matter. Two: The liquid fueled rocket was invented by Robert Goddard. A theoretical book about space is not an invention. Russian rocketry wouldn't exist at all without the German development they got pre and post WWII. Nice try. Most of the others were developments on basic research done around the world not just in the USSR, and had no broad application until they were commercialized in the West. As I said, refuting your claims is child's play. I was going to save you the embarrassment, but since you insist on being an idiot...
