  1. You forgot availability of parts. I have a 1971 Saab 96. It's in great shape, but needs a lot of work! Unfortunately, the company is gone, so we can't get parts there. Just as bad, scrap prices spiked a few years ago, and all the junkyards sold off their old cars for scrap, so no parts there. FURTHERMORE, the correct tire sizes, which used to be ubiquitous, are no longer manufactured either, as is the case with ethanol-free gasoline. So though I love my old Saab, it's getting pretty hard to keep her...
