  4.  @kenhightower897  It has been said that the Taliban could not be so powerful, or have moved so fast in the last week or so, without the support of the Afghan people. Of course there are some who desire a freer, more Western lifestyle, but it's also very likely that many want an AFGHAN lifestyle! And it would be no surprise if the government (US and Afghan) lied to us about that! It has always been my belief that the US has been there for other reasons than "to help the Afghan people," and that in al, likelihood, the ones that were willing to fight on and on, for decades, with the support of the native population, was more likely to be to rightful leadership... I think that it is very likely that the force the US has chosen to champion, the "Afghan government," was always a SECOND (or third) choice of the Afghan people, AFTER the Taliban! In other words, as usual, the US has been supporting the wrong side. We are, in fact, the enemy.

  5. Not a chance… not a chance that Bannon will get a delay, because given the severe corruption of the SCOTUS, he might, but not a chance that he should get a delay. Bannon has done nothing to deserve a delay, in fact, he has done everything to deserve the sentence he got (he has made as SLEW of MORTAL and ILLEGAL THREATS against many individuals and Democrats in general), AND MORE! If you were to ask me, I think Steve Bannon should get 20 years PLUS.

  8. No doubt FEMA is having a hard time addressing Helene, certainly the biggest hurricane we’ve had in decades. The damage is so widespread that FEMA is drawn thin. There is not enough manpower to address everybody’s needs in a timely manner. We could have that, but we have not been willing to pay for it. Readiness for this kind of widespread disaster is expensive. Are we willing to pay for it? Are we willing to double or triple the FEMA budget? If not, we have no grounds to complain. We are getting what we bought.

  9. Jack Teixeira LOOKS so young and angelic. It turns out he has a fascination with violence, and was in fact a total rogue, anti-government saboteur, potential terrorist and on-line leader! He does apparently own an AR-15! It seems likely that before he was through, he was going to do a lot of harm, including violence. I’m glad we used our intelligence for a change, to identify him ASAhumanlyP, and put him away. I’m not usually this adamant about people who have legitimate complaints, and proportionate or necessary solutions, but I don’t think Teixeira ever had anything more than vague (or not so vague) prejudices. Based on what I know, I think Teixeira is dangerous.

  13. If a number of totally outrageous lies is revealed, then everything else we are told falls into doubt. In fact, there is no way I would EVER believe a liar. Israel has told outrageous lies. NOTHING it tells us can be trusted.

  15.  @arturferrao7353 It seems odd if “Palestine was given to the original Hebrews,” that since that time, the area has rarely if ever been ruled by Jews. Furthermore, for at least 2K years, the population has been predominantly Arab. There has been a Jewish presence for sure, but Jews were not rulers. If any group has a claim on Palestine, it has to be the Palestinians!
