This happens SOMETIMES when a single person holds power too long, mostly when they become greedy for power, i.e. when they decide that no price is too high to retain power, for themselves, i.e. when they become fascists. That is when we SHOULD know that that person/those persons must GO. When a leader tries to concentrate more power in him(or her)self, that is a critical moment. That person must be driven from government. I can imaging cases where idealistic leaders do not lust for more power (George Washington is a classic example). There are also cases where a leader sought and received more power (in the form of additional terms), but never abused it, FDR being a good example of that.

@teresamccartney1309 It’s already a de facto dictatorship. Netanyahu and Likud are on the political far-right, which is close to fascism, if not yet over the line. This reduction in judicial power being proposed could put Netanyahu and Likud over the line.

It’s a move toward fascism. Netanyahu is doing it in part to fend off legal attacks that are being made on him, i.e. for his personal benefit. Weakening the judiciary will strengthen executive power, i.e. it will move Israel toward a fascist dictatorship, possibly with Netanyahu as dictator. Fascism used to be Israel’s mortal enemy; now Israel is BECOMING fascist? What horrors await us?

What I want to know is “why this GENOCIDAL BIAS against Arabs?” What did they ever do, that Israel hasn’t done INFINITELY WORSE? Why this ugly focus on JEWISH suffering, only, while Jews are slaughtering TENS OF THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT PALESTINIANS? Where are the stories about PALESTINIAN suffering? WHERE ARE THEY? Official bias is so obvious, so CRIMINAL, it can’t be ignored. MSNBC and CNN are EQUALLY GUILTY! FOX NEWS IS JUST AS BAD! Any fantasies that these are liberal, that is MORAL news outlets belong in the toilet. THEY ARE SPEWING LIES!!!
