  1. And you can replace the tires with the normal pneumatic type, but then you won’t have a spare… I have all season Michelins (previously had sport Continentals) on my BMW 128i (RWD), and they make all the difference in the winter, on snowy roads.

  2. Depends on which ones we’re talking about. I only know their reputations (I own a 128i, which is terrific), but I think most of the turbocharged 4s are problematic mechanically, i.e. not without issues, whereas this one, which should have the (turbocharged) 3L 6, is much more reliable (and also faster). I believe the same car and engine are available in the X3 as the naturally aspirated 28i, which should be even more reliable. I am looking at getting one myself.
