  1. I had a 1999 5-speed MT 4Runner, 4WD with rear lockers for 15 years and 120K miles, and I loved her. I considered her to be an unusually useful sports car. She was simple and straightforward and a joy to drive! New England rust finally claimed her, but as recently as 4 mos. ago, I took her on a 1K mile trip. There was never any worry about reliability, right up until a couple of expensive mechanical issues cropped up. If not for the rust, I would have fixed her, but I did do the next best thing. I sold her to an enthusiast who planned to rebuild her. He says he has done 10 of them, so it looks like my old companion will live again!
