  1. Most families live alone… The reason the house has a roof (straw, thatch), despite being in a cave, would be to keep heat in/out, as well as to keep dust and insects out. The presence of water makes the house defensible. It actually looks like a VERY nice place, which in the West would be highly sought after, and very expensive!
