Most European nations grow their own wheat and corn, Ukraine's exports are for the middle east and Africa where such crops are difficult to grow.

The Dutch protests are nothing to do with the current fertiliser problems. Dutch farmers are being told to cut down production so that the Netherlands can meet its quota on nitrogen emissions.

Dietary staples like corn and wheat cannot be grown at the equator so do we just let a billion people starve to death?

@jamessizemore7103 Yes, there is a lot of things that grow at the equator but none are dietary staples like corn, wheat, rice, soy and potatoes. The reason that things like corn and wheat and rice became the "go to" crops over 20,000 years is because they could feed masses of people on the smallest harvests. I understand what you were saying about "other things grow at the equator" but dude - engage your brain for a moment. We don't need other things to grow at the equator, we need things to grow as quickly and efficiently as corn, wheat, soy, the shit that our livestock eats. The shit that billions of humans now rely on.

@nathanielacton3768 Unexploded shells do make pock marks. Something fired from two miles away is obviously going to make a crater when it lands. It just won't explode because the fuse is designed to explode when it hits something utterly solid, soil is thick but not always hard enough to trigger a fuse. Europe is still covered in millions of unexploded ordinance (UXO). Also Russia does not own those fields - Russia has withdrawn to the Donbas (east Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk regions), 80% of Ukraine belongs to Ukraine again. But they are still hitting Ukrainian farmlands with ordinance for some reason...

The same thing wasn't done by the Brits, the Russians are doing this on purpose to harm Ukraine while the policies of Churchill's government were done in no way to harm Indians. If Churchill is guilty of anything it is his tactless comments after the war when his policies were linked to the famine. Please don't use what is happening in Ukraine to push your agenda, people are being killed.
