  2. Use your own brain, dude. Don't try to be more clever than the NASA boys without even widening your vision, that is the epitome of pathetic and arrogance. And it's not 'mouse fart for a month' it's perpetual mouse fart. As I understand it even ion drives eventually run out of fuel so how would an ion drive ever get up to the speeds required to reach another system within a lifetime or two if it maxes out after a decade? An EM-drive designed to give the same thrust as an ion drive (say a 1km diameter machine as opposed to the 1m diameter machine that is an ion drive) would still continue to accelerate after a decade, and after 50 years, after a century you could be travelling at closer to light than to standstill. Would become feasible to build a monstrous vehicle if the science showed it was capable of reaching the likes of Alpha Centauri within a couple of lifetimes, accelerating for 50% of the journey and decelerating the other 50%. That is what excites folks, not the thrust, but the lack of fuel - just add solar panels and release.
