Not to mention defeating the Nazis, I don't think there were any English speakers anywhere near Berlin when Hitler popped his clogs.

"We think we found evidence of the Higgs in Miyazawa's lap. Though it might just be a bit of carrot."

That's what the grand unified theory hopes to find out but it did get a huge breakthrough two years ago when it was found that gravity and light travel at roughly the same speed strengthening the prospect of their being a gravity particle. The gravity-carrying graviton. The GW170817 gravitational anomaly was detected by the LIGO detector in August 2017 at the same time that light from the origin of the signal showed a star going kilonova, proving that if you managed to make the Sun disappear it would not only take 8 minutes for the skies of Earth to go black but it would also be 8 minutes before the Earth and Moon flung each other out into space.

At the depths they are built it's roughly the same temperature where ever you build it. I believe the 14km of tunnel that was dug is currently used as a server farm for someone like Google seeing as it's so cold down there.

Technically memes have always existed in one form or another, we just didn't call them memes until a few years ago when it became hip or cool to massively overuse them on every video. Like that one stupid meme that begins with me: ...that you see a billion times under most videos.

around a quarter of the ring was dug, 14km is not 52km.

Weird, because we have both of those and we still built the LHC... What you meant is you found out that having 500 more ships than the next strongest navy was better than just having 400 more ships than the next strongest navy.

Which would be incredibly helpful if he ever wanted to run for president on a republican ticket.

Or 60 for the price of the F-35

@black22works OK then, I should have catered for those that can't follow a simple video and said "English speakers".

Neither does standing still though, if a solar flare or asteroid were to ever hit the planet with enough force to dinosaur all of us then only science will let us sidestep it.

It's the right who are famously anti-science and always have been, the clue is even in the name.. 'conservative'. i.e. "if we don't already have it then we don't need it".

"Do I throw out the mustard or do I buy hotdogs?" is the sort of question that can bring a massive fete of engineering to a standstill. It's probably what killed the SCC. Probably.
