@erinbsullivan444 Psychopaths are not stupid, they know what punishment is and they don't want to be punished so by that very definition they strive to be good just like the rest of us but they often fail at it because they are wired to take what they desire and their desires are stronger. A high functioning psychopath on the other hand might have no intention of being good because they know how to get around the system, Patrick Bateman from American Pscho and the serial killer Ted bundy are examples of high functioning psychopaths. The big difference between good people and good psychopaths are that the former are good due to compassion while the latter are good due to fear of consequences.

@mat.phillips Pedantic Pete strikes again. Clearly it's not an actual new sense in itself, they just meant that they are more perceptive with the senses they have. some people can spot things that others won't depending on their cognitive abilities.

@Hand_Shake They are psychopaths, not morons. His point was that you can't rehabilitate them, not that you can't deter them. Someone who craves stimulus and absolute freedom has no desire to be locked up.

Nazi Germany was a heaven for psychopaths as they were rewarded for things they would otherwise be punished for and so rose through the ranks quickly. Amon Göth was a textbook example and his portrayal in Schindler's List was angelic compared to what he did in real life. Then there was the doctors who got to experiment on people, as psychopaths they must have thought every day was Xmas.
