  1. The world really needs to build more fabs, the past couple of years have showed just how vulnerable the rest of the world is to chip shortages. If there was ever a major catastrophe in south east Asia like a tsunami on the level of the 2004 tsunami it could wreak havok on Taiwan and South Korea and bring the world's chip manufacturing to a halt.
