He is correct about the word scotch, it has no Scottish connection and just means "to blend multiple things", scotch tape was invented in the US as the first masking tape to allow something to be painted multiple colours, and scotch eggs are an English (that's right!) food whereby meat is combined with egg. This is why we Scots get annoyed when ignorant people refer to us as 'Scotch', we might have came up with the drink but the name sounding similar to our nationality is purely coincidental.
