  1.  @quinnjim  You might be a flight instructor, but the pilots of an actual flight who used the method trumps that. Also what you describe is centrifugal force, there is none of that in an aircraft travelling in a straight line at less than 1G..

  2. If the plan was to start retiring the aircraft in 2011 and this happened in 2010 would it not have made more sense to just scrap this aircraft first instead of repairing it? Those odd Russians!
