  1.  @Mr.Byrnes  It's exactly colonialism, rather than integrating with local culture the US sets up little American colonies so its soldiers don't have to experience any of the local culture. It explains why even some of those Americans who have travelled the world via the US military still know nothing about the world, which is something that has baffled non-Americans for eons.

  5. If I was German I would not want a constant reminder of the 70 years Germany was under US occupation. The US has smaller bases in the UK and each time one closes we demolish it and return the land to British use.

There is a definite correlation between distance travelled and historical fame and that just shows that the best generals must have had a talent for logistics.

  11. No one really needs one, the rest of us don't try to police the world. The UK and France have much smaller systems in place for our overseas territories but nowhere nearly as large as the American system and only situated close to those territories.
