You can't cancel something like an in-progress airshow with just a few minutes to spare, if even one of those showcasing pilots was still in the path of that jet when it descended this could have been a catastrophe. It sounds to me that Allegiant were at fault on multiple points, failure to have sufficient emergency fuel onboard and failure to anticipate that a late takeoff could negate the use of the intended destination being the two most obvious faults. Whoever OK'd that aircraft to take off an hour late knowing that the destination already only had a 20 minute landing window for it should be sacked, possibly even prosecuted. As was already stated Allegiant had been made aware months prior that this airport would be a no-go outside of that window. EDIT: On top of that the airport itself should have known that there was a missed landing before they allowed the airshow to start, did no one at the airport think to find out if that aircraft had been rerouted? They let an airshow go ahead knowing there might be an aircraft out there headed towards them.
