I don't know, there have been simulations of what ifs and it's likely that had we not entered the war then neither would the USA and so today the Soviet Union would cover all of Asia and continental Europe and the USA would be isolationist, meaning we would likely now be either the 51st state of the USA or a Soviet satellite. As much of a failed country that we are at least we still have soveriegnty.

Your also forget your country wasn't bombed to smithereens, suffering a labour shortage, drowning in debt and relying solely on imports for survival. Just four wee details.

@mrdanforth3744 Spoken like a true idiot. Medical treatments for easily treated illnesses were much rarer too so if you survived child birth (50/50 there) you then had to get through childhood without dying to TB or Polio. My 84 year old mum, who lost two brothers before they were 15, says to tell you you're a muppet!
