Seeing an Amiga screenshot on the back of a Spectrum game would make me drool. Robocop 2 in 16bit colour? That was the stuff of legends that only the older kids had. I adored the Spectrum but my first Amiga is probably the gaming love of my life - The Blues Brothers, Toki, Titus the Fox, etc.

@mattffolliott-powell5105 Still love Booty to this day, figuring out which order to open all the doors so none of the pirates snuff you out :)

@TheStevenWhiting The only American show I liked from that time was Cagney & Lacey.

Every piece of media requires paying for, you don't get anything for free so this show was paid for by the TV licence and shows on the other networks would be paid for by commercial breaks.

@fozzee6999 Some people prefer to support Britain and it's industry.

@stuartedwards6996 Not really, it had better graphics at the expense of some crap ports and a smaller catalogue of games, the 16bits were the computers that blew us away when we saw them. Finally we could see where all of the high quality screenshots on the back of our spectrum game cases came from.

Most of us wanted to support British companies like Sinclair and Acorn.

Nah, most ports of it for computers were shite.

Every gamer knew how to use the keyboard in those days, joysticks were for consoles. QAOP or ZXPL were the controls of the day.

Inflation has nothing to do with it, prices went up because games can no longer be created in a bedroom over a weekend by one person.

No, it just uses the same chavvy pronunciation of the word 'bothered'.

The kid who smelled of onions and sat on his own at lunchtime would have an Amstrad CPC with the tiny green monitor.

They would throw it on the floor and set fire to it, these are Brit kids, if it doesn't have a keyboard then it's not for gaming!
