@wallissimpson5414 Well Matti here murdered the man who was in the middle of raping his sister so I can forgive that.

@zozzledwolf4653 This guy murdered his sister's rapist so your logic immediately fails. This is why you don't get to make rules.

@wernervoss6357 By "all over the world" you mean poor nations near the US that the US keeps poor?
4
@Memento--Mori Because you prefer criminals to become even bigger hardened criminals and go on to start a career of crime?

How did he get a better life? He went from being a free man who could do what he wants to having to abide by rules and live in a dorm with other people. How is that a better life?

@devinmcgroot7560 Then why do countries with the harshest prison conditions always have the highest crime rates? By your logic the worst conditions for a caught criminal should surely mean lower crime rates, but it doesn't.

That's their capital? Wow, maybe they should take some money from their space program and use it to join the 21st century.

Except it is impossible to be broke or have no money in Finland as everyone gets UBI.

A life sentence rarely means a full life sentence, even in the USA. A life sentence means you can never be released until a parole board deems that you are fit to be released and it will come with a minimum term, so a life sentence with a minimum of 15 years for example means you serve 15 years and then you must satisfy a parole board or you stay in prison and a new parole hearing will be set two-to-five years later, this will repeat every few years until you are either released or you die in prison having never been deemed fit for parole.

Being a civilised species. We're not there but we're getting there.

@alwyngreen7205 Then that mentality is your right, but it's a shitty one. I would prefer people to be productive members of society rather than career criminals who cost me a fuckton more in taxes in the long run.

And a criminal record, the stigma attached to that and a chance they might never be employed by anyone.

Nowhere in the video does it say anything about this being a maximum security prison, in fact a maximum security prison in Finland looks like a maximum security prison anywhere else. Do all Nigerians attempt to mislead people or just you? I haven't met many.

@theotherside931 "I don't have a coherent argument so I'll just pull the race card and type everything in bold!" -The Other Side Don't you ever get bored of calling everything racist?

@Shia Lebeouf: Life Coach It was a crime of passion, any true murderer in Finland does not get sent to an open prison, they go to a high sec prison. His was an extenuating circumstance that meant he did kill a person but that he should not forfeit his liberty for it. Hell, in the US a lawyer would likely get him a similar deal to what he has in Finland, he killed the man abusing his sister. I imagine that since he killed the guy in his sister's home he probably wouldn't even face a judge in some US states he would get a pat on the back for being "the good guy with a gun" as Americans like to call it.

@Bbhai24 There is nothing even remotely Hinduphobic about this video. Are you telling me that everyone in Pakistan is a Hindu now?

Show them humanity, someone that has only lived and seen violence will be natural and think violence is the way of the world. Show them empathy and compassion and what it really means when you end someone's life. If you have no value for life it is very easy to end a life. so you show people the value of life.

People from everywhere are getting this in their recommend, American republicans are just choosing to berate it in the comments because their right-wing indoctrination is too strong to ever be overcome by a single YouTube video. The conservative mind can't help the need to condemn anything seemingly socialist any better than a zealot can't help but scorn a heretic. I find their comments hilarious, personally.

@IntelligentHorseworldofrandom Well you have sanctions on Venezuela because you don't like their leader and want a pro-American leader, that's sort of what the US has done to South American nations for 140 years. Lots of US produce comes from South America and a South American nation becoming developed would mean the farmers who produce your coffee and fruit would be paid a fair wage. The US could never let that happen.

A prisoner should have rights, they just shouldn't have their liberty and these guys pretty much don't have their liberty because if they ran they would be pursued and caught. They are still prisoners they just aren't kept cooped up with hardened criminals that will only turn them into hardened criminals themselves.

Open your mind from time to time and use your brain. For a joke it has made crime an all time low.
