There is nothing even remotely polite about the US, it's arguably the most backwards of all developed nations whilst also being one of the only armed developed nations. Rethink your slogans, chief!

@justoverit Correct. It's no different to how a TV network might not want it's ads shown along side particular content, the only difference is that an advertiser can watch the TV shows it will be shown with but doesn't have the resources to watch half of YouTube and so leaves the decision up to automated checkers that analyse videos for certain words.

You'd be surprised, a cow can weigh 500lbs and not a single piece of the cow would be wasted, so yes, one person could survive on one pound of nutrition for a few days.

To be fair a ship's captain had to be educated in a myriad of things from navigation to native customs to diplomacy, there was definitely some selfishness there but he also knew their best bet for survival was with him leading them. At least that would have been the case had he not made the collosal maistakes he did later on.

Lots of hands.

You don't prefix HMS with "The" like you would USS because the first word in HMS is either 'His' or 'Her' and saying "the His Majesty's Ship Perseus" just sounds odd.

Which also involved a boat if my memory serves me.

South Africans are also Africans.

Pity you weren't there to inform the experts who did the investigation and found that it would. You could have set things right.

He was found with a hastily scrawled note that said "I tried to break the window with a hamm.. ARG!"

Then he doesn't get paid, would you do your job for nothing?

Not always, having one agency that is run well can be better than having 50 smaller agencies if half of them are run like crap. That's why countries centralise some things and decentralise others.

Russian subs have an escape pod that can fit the entire crew in it, It's a large vertical cylinder that seals once everyone is crammed in and then launches upwards to the surface like a ballistic missile. They have never been used though as the only submarine lost since they started being included in the design was Kursk and a lifeboat in the middle of the submarine is no use when the only survivors are trapped in the tail of the submarine. When asked why US subs don't have a 'lifeboat' an admiral once reportedly said "We prefer to spend the extra money making the submarine safe to begin with".

For any fellow Brits watching: Molasses = treacle. That black shit your granny eats on toast, imagine drowning in that thick, sticky muck.

GIBRALTARRR!!!

He figured it out by trying to teach things to people who were thought to be unteachable, obviously.

Because it wouldn't exist for another 100 years.

"Hey, a Deliveroo driver just left 300 Chinese meals on the next island over!"

YouTube isn't making channels do anything, advertisers are.

Never heard of that, I am aware of HMS Thetis however, which sank one month after USS Squalus.

2.5, not 2 to 5. Also a water cutter only cuts at point blanc range, lift it a few inches off the target and it just forms a cloud of spray.

I'm sure he'll miss you.

What does "well within a safe crush depth" mean? It sounds like an oxymoron.
