  2. Nothing needs done to the grid, we have one of the best grids in western Europe, it's power generation that needs upgraded because more than 30% of our electricity comes from nuclear and all those reactors have less than 10 years to live.

  3. Doesn't the UK have some of the highest EV charging points per capita? There is a joke in Scotland that we have more chargers than EV cars.

  10. The severn estuary has tides that would absolutely dwarf this test location and if I'm not mistaken both Cardiff and Bristol are right next door to that.

  11. Depends how you define cheap, in terms of annual lives lost coal is easily the most expensive of all power generation methods ever devised.

  12. Yeah, they meant a town of 2000 houses for as long as the turbine is working since obviously it's not going to be turned off after a year.

  13.  @pimvanduijne  They never stop, they do turn around though. To stop a tide the moon would have to hold it's position in space, and it doesn't do that.
