  2. Capitalism isn't sustainable though. It used to take 10 people to make 1 car, now with automation 10 people can make 100 cars, within 30 years factories will make 1000 cars without anyone. Let's see your billionaire heroes agree to pay you 15 bucks an hour when a one-off payment can replace you with something that doesn't make mistakes and doesn't require breaks. Like it or not one day the US will have universal welfare or it will degenerate in to the chaotic dystopia of mass unemployment that every future-based movie predicts it will. Switzerland is already considering a blanket monthly payment for every adult male and female regardless of whether they have a job with the stipulation that it is just sufficient to live on, if you want more money you get a job. The rest of us European socialists are keeping our eye on it as it might be the answer to the inevitable automation crisis.
